Another time, I was meeting with a woman about her house in Woodbridge, VA. As I was sitting on her couch, she was flipping through a folder regarding some of the information I needed about the house and she came across a bright pink postcard. Then she literally said to me "Jason, I just want you to know that I don't like you. This is a postcard from someone else who offered to buy my house who I liked better. However, after talking to both of you, you are more professional and you explained how you could buy my house and I feel confident you can get me out of my situation." I am not kidding. The woman actually did say those words to me. Nice, huh? The point is, this proves that strong sales skills are crucial. People don't have to like you, they just have to believe you are the best person to buy their house and help them get rid of their problems.
